Elijah Blue Fescue Festuca glauca 'Elijah Blue' Low-growing blue-gray tufted, mounding grass adds bold colour and texture to gardens. In early summer, wheat-like seed heads are produced on tall, spikey stalks in great numbers. Salt-tolerant. Prefers cooler climates. Excellent ground cover for perennial borders or rock gardens.
Plants often look best if flowers are sheared off upon drying. Common blue fescue makes a superb color accent and grows well in containers. A cool season grower, it often sulks during hot, humid summers. Outstanding, icy blue coloration to this clumping ornamental grass holds up even through the heat of summer. Buff-colored plumes create eye-catching contrast. Perfectly suited for edging borders or mass planting as a groundcover. Drought tolerant when established. Semi-evergreen.
