Fittonia likes well drained moist soil, but not too wet. Water moderately with room temperature water, and let the soil dry out between watering. They prefer bright, indirect light, but will tolerate lower light. With lower light, the plant may lose it's vibrant colour and veining.
Growing nerve plants should be placed in a warm area, avoiding drafts which will shock the plant just as water that is too cold or hot. Think rain forest conditions and treat your Fittonia nerve houseplants accordingly.
